Every farewell is different. These practical answers can help you understand the choices available.
How long is a funeral ceremony?
This depends on the time booked at the crematorium or other venue. The funeral director can confirm the available slot, and we will plan readings, music and tributes around it.
Can the ceremony take place at a crematorium?
Yes, subject to the venue and the arrangements agreed with the funeral director.
Can we hold a memorial after direct cremation?
Yes. A separate memorial or celebration of life can take place at a suitable time and venue after a direct cremation.
Can we include music, readings and photographs?
Yes. You can suggest meaningful music, readings and images. We will check the venue facilities and available time.
Can family members speak?
Yes. I can help plan family contributions, or read a tribute for someone who prefers not to speak.
Can we include religious or spiritual elements?
We can discuss a non-religious, spiritual or blended ceremony. Where religious rites require a priest or other officiant, I can work respectfully alongside them.
Can you help with a Hindu funeral?
I can support the family tribute and remembrance, while any religious rites requiring a priest remain with the appropriate religious officiant.
What happens when we first speak?
We will discuss your wishes, the person being remembered and any practical details you already know. You do not need to have every answer.
What is the celebrant fee?
The standard fee is £250. The exact scope, any expenses and other terms are confirmed in a written quotation.
Are crematorium and funeral director fees included?
No. Third-party costs are separate unless your written quotation expressly says otherwise.
Do you travel across Lancashire?
Yes, I work across Preston and surrounding Lancashire communities. Please ask about your specific venue and any travel arrangements.
