Respect for faith, family and individual tradition

For Hindu families, the funeral may include specific rites, prayers, family responsibilities and cremation traditions. Practices vary across communities, regions, sampradayas and individual households.

I can help families plan the personal tribute and coordinate respectfully with the funeral director, mandir and priest or other religious officiant where required.

Important: I do not present myself as a Hindu priest or claim authority to perform rites that require a qualified religious officiant. We will discuss which elements you want me to lead and which should be led by your chosen priest or family member.

Questions families often ask

Can the ceremony include Sanskrit or Gujarati prayers?

Yes, where agreed with the family and the appropriate religious officiant. Texts, pronunciation and roles should be checked in advance.

Can you work with our pandit or mandir?

Yes. Coordination can help everyone understand timings and responsibilities; availability and specific arrangements must be confirmed.

Do all Hindu families follow the same customs?

No. Practices differ considerably, and I would never assume which customs your family wishes to observe.
